Mission statement   Credibility of our results
It is the mission of the ISmHW to rewrite the history of the world in a way that is at the same time more interesting, enjoyable and credible than official history. Credibility will be fostered by researching each historic issue in the spirit of experimental archaeology, while supporting these experiments with deductive argumentation on a sound base of facts.
  Enjoyability of our results
Enjoyability will be achieved by a to the point discussion of issues at hand, preferably sticking to one html-page for the issue. Thus we will discredit the long winding stories about kings & queens & presidents (mostly younger then the Stones), with which historical textbooks are all to often populated.
Director of the ISmHW   Methods of research

The director of the ISmHW on a mission at the southcoast of Bretagne (France).
As stated, our methods of research are closely related to those of experimental archaeology. Teams of highly educated and well-trained researchers, either directly recruited from the leagues of the ISmHW or acting on behalf of the ISmHW, will be deployed on missions defined by the board of directors.
Membership of the ISmHW Recruitment of research teams
The ISmHW freely invites those who are interested in our noble work, to visit the ISmHW clubpage. Membership is free, but might lead to your invitation to join our missions in the future. As it is, the ISmHW will depend mostly on the strenuous efforts of people who are freely devoted to a better understanding of the history of the world. These people have our full support. This support will be of a moral character.
Fundraising   Typical mission scenario
Rewriting the history of the world using methods in the spirit of experimental archaeology is by no means a cheap undertaking. In most cases it means the deployment of teams of at least four or five members to sites located, if not at the very edge of the world, then at least at the edge of civilisation as we know it. Money will therefore be needed in astronomical amounts.

Of course the board of directors is using all of its influence to raise funds for this culturally important work. We take a pragmatic approach to matters of money however and will not hesitate to take what we can get. UNESCO is good and EEC money doesn't smell too funny either, but even religious zealots wanting to find the ark of Noach can knock at our doors.

  - A historically interesting location is sought out and traversed by our team.

- During its travels our team might find artefacts that are potentially relevant for the history of the world.

- On location experiments will be designed and worked out, which might confirm the relevance of the artefacts.

- At the same time a theory on the possible relevance of the artefact(s) is put forward and discussed by the members of the team.

- If and only if experiments and theory pass the critical judgement of the members of the team, documentation of the same is passed to the ISmHW board of directors.

- Only after careful examination of the material at hand and possible consultation of experts in the relevant fields of history and archaeology, will the ISmHW publish on its website.
