| Experiments | Theory | |
Experiments conducted during the 1995 mission, clearly show that windscreens can be made out of material ready at hand on the beaches of Terschelling. Thus supporting our theories about prehistoric settlements on the island. |
Walking along the beaches of a Wadden-island sometimes gives you the impression of living in a prehistoric age. A lonely traveler on a desolate beach. It naturally makes you inclined to ask if the islands were actually inhabited in those days. Surely one of the main questions would be the survival of pre-technological man on the stormy beaches. Is there a way man might have protected himself? If yes, half of the arguments for inhabitation are given. | |
| Mission team | ||
As you will note, one of the members of our team is considerably smaller than the average twentieth century adult. For our experiments this member acted as prehistoric man - as it is well known that adults in those days were a lot shorter than nowadays. A fact of some importance if you are trying to hide behind a windscreen. |
